Another move!!!

Chris has been given a promotion at his job! We are so proud of him. It entails a 10% pay increase and they are paying for our MOVE. Yup, that is right. We are moving AGAIN! The good thing is his company is paying for the move this time also so that takes a lot of the stress off. Also we are only moving 3 hours from where we are now which will put us just about an hour from both of our families. After living 900 miles from the for 2 years and now 250 miles from them it will be a welcome change. The kids are excited to live closer to Grandma and Grandpa!

The only downfall is he takes his new position in only 2 weeks. Not enough time. The kids and I will probably stay here until we find a home. I am a little nervous about being here with the kids alone for a long period of time but it will all be worth it in the end!

2011 Recap!

We have had one big crazy year. It is hard to believe in just a few short months the kids will be 4 years old. They are growing up so fast. I am very thankful for all of the great experiences that we have shared this past year. It has been at times a very stressful hectic every changing year but we have also had the best time sharing some of our favorite thing with the kids. They are finally old enough to enjoy so much more!

In February we packed up and moved over 900 miles for Daddy's new job. We loved living in Alabama but we had to do what was best longterm for our family.

In April Sean was climbing out of his bed and he broke his arm. Poor Seany. He handled it VERY well!!

Mother's Day 2011. This day is a very special day for me. The celebration of the awsome kids that made me a Mother.

The gang turned 3 years old. They LOVE Toy Story...still do. We watch it at least once a week. Their Toy Story Birthday Party was an absolute hit.

Many trips to the local zoo and countless rides on the train. This quickly became our family favorite for the summer.

Several trips to the beach...our FAVORITE place!!

St. Joseph, MI Splash Pad, this was a HUGE Splash Pad for the whole family.

Our trip to Gulf Shores to soak up the sun and spend some much needed time with family and friends!

Celebrating the birth of Jesus!

When I look back at this year I am reminded of how blessed we are. God has provided our every need!!

We are looking forward for another AWSOME year!

Four kids, four snow bibs, four coats, four pairs of gloves, four hats, and four pairs of boots. Need I say more? Let's just say it took several minutes to get everyone bundled up and ready!

Merry Christmas!

We all woke up on Christmas morning and started the day reading the Christmas Story. Then the kids got their stockings.

We put all their presents downstairs in the playroom so we could do breakfast and have a close to normal morning before the chaos of gifts began. The girls loved their pink castle and the boys their Thomas tent!

Sean and Sophia playing with the baby center. These gifts were not wrapped so the kids played for a while before they started openning the rest.

The girls both have a new Lil' Dolly Doll with a matching dress for them. They probably won't get to wear them until Spring.

All four kids love their new robs. They still wear them everyday. Edi tries to sleep in hers.

It was a great morning the kids played and we all just relaxed and enjoyed every minute. This is the first Christmas that they are starting to understand. It is amazing to experience life through the eyes of four kiddos. We have been BLESSED beyond our imagination!

The kids each received new pajamas and new nightlights on Christmas Eve. It has been our tradition for many years to get new pajamas on Christmas Eve, we have continued this tradition with our children.

After returning home from Church Service we read the Christmas Story and it was jammy time!

We had a Birthday Party for Jesus on Christmas Eve before going to church for the Christmas Service. It is very important to Chris and I to focus on the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Christ.

Lighting of the Christmas Tree

We took the kids downtown to the lighting of the Christmas Tree. It was cold but we toughed it out. Santa came in on a horse drawn carriage but the kids do not really like the big guy. We don't really talk about Santa much in our house. But they were excited about the FREE cookies and hot chocolate from the South Bend Chocolate Cafe that we waiting in line for a LONG time to get. It is too bad that right before we reached the table they ran out! Haha. We ran inside to buy some and the lines were sooooo long that we just decided to get goodies another time. They kids didn't really seem to care. They were just enjoying all the activity going on.

We are gearing up for Christmas this weekend and very excited that Daddy actually gets some time off work. The kids will be thrilled to see him 2 days in a row! Mommy is happy too! :o)

Mommy's TIRED...

A few weeks ago I hired a Personal Trainer. I need to get this extra weight off and get back into shape. I have been feeling very tired since the kids were born and I just assumed it was because my life has changed a lot. Taking care of 4 kiddos and a house and all that goes with it is a lot of work. I just figured I was getting older and the tiredness was just a part of life.

After working with the Trainer of couple of times I had some severe muscle soreness. I have been doing cardio a few times a week for a long time but I had just started adding in strength training and stretching. I was having some lower abdominal pain around my C-section scar that was not getting better so I went to the Doctor. After some blood testing the Dr. discover that my hemoglobin is down to 7. This is considered very low. Like low enough that I am going into the Hospital for IV iron infusions once a week for the next 3 weeks. I also have a vitamin D deficiency.

I am soooo relieved that the way I have been feeling for months is not the way I am going to feel for the rest of my life...THIS IS NOT NORMAL! The Dr. said I should feel a huge difference in the next 2-3 weeks. Just in time for Christmas. I cannot tell you how Thankful I am to have found this out just in time to avoid a blood transfusion or Hospitalization. I did have to stop working with my Trainer just for 3 weeks until I am a little more stable. The Doctor and Nurses were suprised that I was doing a vigorous work-out on top of my daily routine with my levels so low.

I now have HOPE that I will feel good again. I am Praising God that in just a few weeks I will have renewed strength to face this next year. We are so excited to be celebrating our 4th Christmas as a big happy family!

Mommy's Helpers

The kids were a great help when we were putting the Christmas Tree up in their playroom?!? Haha.

They spent most of the night playing with a Mickey and Minnie Snowglobe.

Oh...and mixing up the branches after I already had them all sorted by color.

Sophia ran off with Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree.

We did finally get it all together and lit. The decorations came later of course they will not leave them alone. I decided to put all the Disney ornament on their tree so I guess it is partly my fault. They just cannot resist! :o)

Shipshewana Light Parade

Several weeks ago we took the kids to Shipshewana for their Light Parade and the Lighting of the Christmas Tree. It was cold so we all bundled up and headed out.

The line for Santa was too long so we headed inside one of the local bake shops and got the kids some cookies...as always they didn't really like them and saw some veggie chips in the store and went nuts. Yup, that's my kiddos. Sophia is really the only one that likes sweets. They like Oatmeal Cookies and Snickerdoodles sometimes but throw icing or chocolate at them and you can forget it.

Overall we had a good time the parade had many floats covered in Christmas Lights. I made for a late night but well worth it. We were definately all in the Christams Spirit by the end of the night. The next day the kids wanted to put a tree up. This was November 13 by the way. So we did. They have had a tree down in their playroom for well over a month.

Now it they would just leave it alone!!!!

We assigned colors for the kids when they were born.

They have each become very attached to their color.

Edi is always pink. If it is pink she thinks it belongs to her.

Sophia's color is purple.

Henry's color is green.

Sean's color is blue.

Sometimes having their own color is a real pain in the .... but

it gives them something that is just theirs. There is NO question as to

which kid it belongs to if it is their color.

We are always trying to do things that will make life just a little easier. You would not believe

how much some things help.

Our new playroom!

We moved into a much bigger house a couple of months ago. We have a lot more room and the kids have a huge playroom in the basement. The house is a 4 bedroom with 3 full baths and a huge laundry/storage room in the fully finished basement. Oh, how quickly the sanity returns.

We are all enjoying the new house. Hopefully it will make the winter a lot easier! Mommy loves all the extra space because it makes the house MUCH less noisy. Peace and calm...Ahhhhhh!

We are finally getting settled in and it is feeling like home! I could not feel more blessed! I am getting ready to start pre-school with the kids. I found some great teaching guides at our local school supply store and I am setting up the spare bedroom as our school.

We are looking forward to the upcoming Holiday Season and spending time with family!

So we moved to Southern Alabama when the kids we just a little over 1 year old. It does not snow in Foley, Alabama, the temperatures rarely fall below freezing and if they do it is only for a night NEVER during the day. Chris had a job transfer at the beginning of the year and we all ended up in Northern Indiana. We are about 4 miles South of Michigan...YES, a very big change for us.

Anyway on Saturday the sun was shinning and all of a sudden it started thundering. Then came the rain which quickly turned into a mixture of snow and sleet. Needless to say the kids were very excited. Ummmm, Mommy, not so much!

Ya gotta love those kids even though they have no idea what we are in for this winter. We have been told that we will be having a lot of snow. Because of Lake Michigan being so close we are subect to the Lake Effect. Thank Goodness we recently moved to a much larger home so we will not go too stir crazy being stuck inside. I have also decided to start doing pre-school with the kids when the weather gets bad.

Luckily it was all melted by the time nap was over. Oh and just in time for the BIG Notre Dame game...but that's another story!

Gulf Shores Vacation

We did not get as many pictures of our vacation as I would have liked. By the time we got to our condo on the beach we were all feeling a little under the weather. We spent most of the week not feeling well. The kids were sleeping with their puke buckets for several nights and both Chris and I were sick also. It lasted for about 4 days. We had a good time, during the times that we felt better, spending time with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Joe, Aunt Rosie, and Uncle Brent. We did not however get to spend much time with our friends down in Southern Alabama. It was a little disappointing!

We stopped on the way down South for a snack.

The kids loved the pool. They were a little timid and Sean and Henry were the only ones that ventured out on their own. Sophia stepped in the pool while trying to get a ball and went under. From then on she did not want to get off the steps. One of the kids knocked Edi into the pool and she was very cautious from then on also.

The kids had a great time playing with Aunt Rose and Uncle Brent. I have always been very close to them but we haven't lived close to them since the kids were about 1. It was nice to see them bond so quickly!

I am so thankful to God for the awsome family he has blessed us with!

The kids are not old enough to know that usually only girls paint their toenails. Haha.

Try reasoning that out with a couple of three year olds. The boys use to get very upset when they did not get flowers and bows in their hair. They do not seem to care anymore. Hey at least I had blue and green polish!

This is just one of those times when I felt like it was not worth the hurting their little feelings over a little paint on their toes. Now Daddy was a little shocked when he came home from work! :o)

Beach FUN!

We have taken the kids to beach a few times this summer and they love it. Last year they didn't like to get the sand on them but this year they like building things in the sand and they did very well in the water also.

We are getting geared up for our much needed beach vacation to Gulf Shores, AL at the end of September! We are so excited to see some of our friends there and spend a LOT of time just relaxing on the beach!

Yes, it is the end of October. Our vacation is already over. I really didn't get may pictures but I will try to get that post ready ASAP. Time sure flies when you are raising quadruplets!!!!

I am so behind in updating my blog. This was a summer trip to a beach in Michigan with an awsome splash pad. The kids had a great time. We are enjoying all the wonderful memories we are making.

St. Vincent Women's NICU reunion 2011

Words cannot express the overwhelming gratitude that I have for all of the Staff at St. Vincent Women's Hospital. Without each and everyone of them we would not be the family that we are today. It was their amazing care that brought me to 32 weeks and 3 days of my quadruplet pregnancy with little complication. I was only in the hospital for one week before the birth of my little miracles. The care that I received and that my children received is beyond anything I could have ever imagined. My two boys were home after only two weeks spent in the NICU and Edi followed 3 days later and Sophia another 4 days later. I was an absolute MIRACLE. As my husband and I left that hospital every night without our children there was absolutely NO doubt in our minds that they were being given the best care possible. I well be forever greatful for everyone involved in the care of our family!

Anyone that knows me knows that I do NOT like messes. My house is just about always clean. This is something that I am really working hard to pass onto my children. The kids clean all their toys up at least twice a day. One time before nap and then again before bedtime. We also always clean up before we leave to go somewhere. But sometimes when I am walking through the house the sight of all their toys scattered around just makes me SMILE!

4 years ago I wasn't sure if I would ever hear the sound of MY children playing. I didn't know if there would ever be toys scattered around my house.

Today I am so very thankful that I have 4 beautiful kids that can make one heck of a mess!

Fireworks and The Fair

We have had a VERY busy month. I have no idea where to start...

Our County Fair started the weekend of the 4th of July. We took the kids on Sunday to see the fireworks. It was a very clean Fair. I do not remember having EVER been to a County Fair as nice as this one. They had a very large kid zone, that was NO SMOKING, with a ton of rides and it was all paved. No mud or big ruts to push the stroller over. Anyway the kids had an awsome time.

They watched the motorcycles ride in the sphere and Galaxy Girl climb a 120 foot ladder and swing on a rope and do a hand stand. The kids were so cute they kept yelling for her to be careful. They were worried.

Henry did not like the noise so he kept this ears covered.

Henry, Edi, Sophia, and Sean sugar shocked from their very first Elephant Ear and waiting patiently for the Firework show to begin.

It's Potty Time...Take 2.

I have done A LOT of research and have finally decided to use these potty training pants. They cost about $90 for 12 pair and I will probably end up getting 24 pair of them. They are waterproof and can be used at night and naptime. I am hoping this will ease my anxiety. I believe my kids have been ready to be potty trained for quite some time BUT Mommy on the other hand has been dreading it BIG TIME. I have read many other quad mom's experience in potty training and frankly it just made me more scared!

But here goes nothing, I just ordered the pants and plan to do the 3 day method as soon as they get here. Please please please pray for me!

I wanna go home...

Yesterday Edi told me she wanted to go home. She wanted to go to our old house where we had a beach and chicken and fries and friend. She said she missed Chloe and Rylee at church. Then Sean chimed in and said he wanted to go back to Alabama.

Obviously this broke my heart. For several minutes they all taked about walking on the beach our church and friend that we have there. Hopefully we will be able to go there for a visit in the near future. In the meantime we will strive to make their experience in our new home one they will talk about when we move to the next one!

The kids are facinated with Choo Choo Trains.

The highlight of any day is when they get to ride one. They ask almost everyday if we can go to the Zoo or the Mall to ride the Train. We do try to take them a couple of time a week...at least!

Attack of the...Butterfly?!?

We were finally able so see the Butterfly Exhibit over Memorial Day weekend at our local Zoo.

I was very excited to see it.

We had NO idea they were so scary! We bought our tickets and went into the building. I snapped two pictures and a big blue butterfly flew over Edi's head and that was the end. She screamed and cried because that mean butterfly tried to get her. So out we went and she is forever scarred. For the rest of the day Henry kept saying, "Edi is scared of the butterflies."

Praise God the cold is FINALLY gone. I know I know Indiana weather is totally unpredictable. We are taking full advantage of every single nice day.

I woke up this morning with a song in my heart. "Great is thy Faithfulness." And it is soooo true. Today I am soaking up Gods love and Faithfulness. I am very thankful for all God provides for our family. We are BLESSED beyond measure. I am overflowing with God's love today!

Sometimes it is the simple things that remind me of all the blessings we have been given.

Papaw came to visit and share their Birthday with them!

Daddy went in late to work so he could help take all the toys out of boxes and put them together. We did the kitchen the night before. Hahaha. It looked like Christmas.

Sophia and her Tinker Bell kitchen. Now I am a very thrify person, I mean come on I have 4 kids the same age. We bought this kitchen after Christmas for $20. You just cant beat that!!

Sophia loves these boxes. They all fit inside each other and they turn over and stack up. They are Melissa and David and they came with a wooden shape box with all the shapes. After Christmas sale $4.81 at Sam's Club.

We had such a GREAT relaxing day. We stayed home and played all day long. Papaw went home after nap and the kids enjoyed their toys. I just played with them and enjoyed them all day also. I am loving the age they are now. Right now at this moment my life is so complete and wonderful. I honestly cannot imagine that it could ever get any better than this. God has blessed us and continues to bless us everyday and I praise His name!!

This Saturday we are going to make a 3 hour trip to have a Birthday party with friends and family. We originally had rented a Big Bounce House but the Orthopedic Surgeon said Sean cannot bounce until July because of his arm. So...with inspiration from an awsome friend, nurse, and crafty blogger, Brooke of Shorties Funny Farm. I have purchase a ton of craft supplies and we are going to have a craft party. Their theme is Toy Story, that is what they wanted. I found a bunch of craft supplies that are actually Toy Story theme at Target and The Dollar Tree. Oh and Oriental Trade. They will be so excited to see Grandma and their cousins! They talk about them ALL the time! Just 3 more days!!

Reflecting on 3

In less than a week my kiddos are turning 3. I can hardly believe it. Sometimes it seems like just yesterday I was longing to be a Mom and other days I cannot remember what my life was like before my name changed to Mommy. I remember when the kids were very small and Chris used to put his giant hand on their tiny little heads and close his eyes and say, "Turn 3 Turn 3." I knew when he was saying it that the day would come soon enough and now it is almost here.

The past few years have been the biggest most rewarding, most trying, scariest, wonderful, frustrating, confusing...of my life. Not only did we live through a very scary quadruplet pregnancy and birth but we also made it through the first years. In the beginning the main concern was keeping them healthy and feed while keeping US healthy and somewhat rested. Hahahahaha There was pretty much NO sleep in the first 3 months and I didn't start getting a good nights sleep until they turned 2 or so. 3 hour feeding resulting in roughly 32 bottles a day. CRAZY! SO MANY diapers. SO MUCH laundry. They spit up ALL THE TIME. Especially the boys and Edi had reflux which was very scary at time. I was the only one that fed her because you had to be so careful. Anyway we made it through bottles and cereal, baby food, sitting up, crawling, walking and much much more. Even though it was hard I wouldn't change it for the world.

Let's not forget our moving adventures. Going to Southern Alabama them moving to Northern Indiana. Oh and we are not done yet. In the next year or two we will be most definately moving again. Hopefully this time will be more permanent. Ya know somewhere where the SUN SHINES alot!!!

I will never forget all of our awsome memories over the past 3 years. I am excited to add more and more each day! Right now the kids love the Zoo and Choo Choo Trains. We are having such a great time with the stage they are in right now. They are starting to understand more and they can tell you what they want and what they like. I feel like I can better get to know each of them because they are developing opinions and are able to articulate their thoughts and feelings better.

Each day brings a new wonderful gift from God and even though I am undeserving, I am soaking up every moment with each one of them. My kids are the most precious gift I have ever been given and I do try to take time out of our busy schedule to just enjoy them.

Where's the Bread?

It is very important to me to teach our kids to make healthy food choices. I have struggled with my weight my whole life and am trying to teach my kids to eat healthy and be active. I am always looking for new creative ways to get veggies into our diet. I like to introduce new fruits and veggies every chance I get. They do not always eat it but it is always on their plates. Our kids LOVE bread. I have always given them whole grain wheat bread, they don't even really know white bread exists. Recently I started making homemade whole wheat bread for them and now they will not eat regular bread.

The other day I ran out of bread and had to give them bread from a store bought loaf. Sophia started crying and said, "NO, that is not bread. I want bread." Hahaha. Now I make it a point to make sure we ALWAYS have homemade bread.

So, Mommy is always behind the camera. It is a rare occasion when Mommy actually ends up in a photo. We did try to get a Mother's Day photo though but this is the best one we could get. Henry is mad because he wants to leave for church.

I had an awsome Mother's Day. Hubby and the kids are getting me a personal trainer. Thank goodness. I finally came to the realization that I need HELP getting the weight off that never came off when the kids were born and has also been slowly creeping even higher. Hopefully a little guidance and a butt kickin' here and there is all I need.

We started our day with attending a new church. We have only been in our new town/state for a month or so and we have not found a church home yet. The kids were very excited to be going to church. They really like church. Anyway we went to a VERY LARGE church. I had done some research online on area churches and this one seemed to have a good kid program. Was I right! The room our kids were in was actually 2 huge rooms called THE FARM. It was decorated with huge farm animals and had tons of toys a little barn and a slide. They were in heaven and didn't cry at all!!!! That was an absolute relief for Daddy and I. We rarely leave our kids with anyone and when we do I have a lot of anxiety. But this time it was easy breezy. Praise God!!

After church we went to Salsa's a Mexican restaurant followed by the Zoo and then a trip to the South Bend Chocolate Cafe for cookies and cheesecake and lastly we walked over to the College Football Hall of Fame and let the kids run on the football field. We had so much fun but it was exhausting. Mommy and Daddy were just as pooped as the kiddos.

I am truely thankful to God for blessing me with these four AMAZING kids. Without them I would not be celebrating Mother's Day.

I am the MOST BLESSED mom on earth. Yup, I get to be called MOM! One of the most precious words I will ever hear.

To Party or Not to Party...

Ok so the kiddos are turning 3 years old in two weeks. I can hardly believe it. We were planning a Birthday Party in the town where our families are at our old church. Since the fiasco we had over Easter weekend we decided to cancel the party. It is a 3 hour drive and I didn't know how I would be able to get there take care of the kids and get ready for their party.

Now I am feeling SO guilty. My kids LOVE to be around family. Since we moved over 700 miles away from them when the kids were just a little over a year old they haven't had the opportunity to see them very much. Everytime they are around family they have such a good time. I had told the kids several weeks ago that we were going to have a party with Grandma Grandpa Kerigan Caymen Christi Lissa Manda...well you get the picture. I really didn't think they would remember BUT yesterday morning when they got up Edi asked me when we were having their Buzz and Woody party with Grandma and Kerigan and Caymen. Broke my heart.

I really do want to do what is best for the kids and I want them to be happy. I know they will not really care if we don't have the party because they don't really understand what it is. I do want them to have a special Birthday.

Aaaarrrrggghhh!!!!!

It really would not be a decision at all if it wasn't for the fact that last year we didn't really do much for their Birthday. We were moving into a different house and we ate supper with a couple of friends. I definately do not want my kids to miss out on any experience just because it might be a little difficult for us. I never want them to feel like they are being punished because they were all born at the same time.

So with all this said I will probably be making some calls and sending out a few email invites. Oh and also confirming our rental on the big bounce house. I mean you only turn 3 ONE TIME.

Imagine an almost 3 year old pushing, biting, jumping on his bed, not picking up his toys, not listening to Mommy and Daddy...you get the picture. Then those beautiful blue eye look right up at you and say...

How quickly they learn!!! As a Momma my heart melts. But...I have to stay strong!

Hooray for Zoo Day!

We found out that we have a Zoo within 2 miles of our house!! Yay, we bought a year membership yesterday and took the the kids. We all had such a great time. The weather was nice although it did get a little cool toward the end of the day. I look forward to many visit this summer...if it ever gets warm.

Grandma's or Bust...

We were planning a trip to Grandma's for Easter weekend. The kids were VERY helpful while I was trying to get everything ready to go.

Edi decided she would pack her own bag. Sophia liked our new GIANT pink backpack.

Edi was very happy to be going to Grandma's to see her and some of our other family.

We use to live about 15 hours from her and now we are 3 hours.

Well our trip did not turn out the way we had hoped. We arrived at Grandma's around 9:30pm the kids were very wound up. We went to bed just before mid-night and all four kids were WIRED. No sleeping for any of us. The kids cried to go home. They wanted their own beds. Aaaaargh!!! I did not know what to do.

Finally around 5:00am we went downstairs and let them play while we got breakfast ready. At this point Chris and I were both exhausted and ready to just go home. We decided to wait and see if they would take a good nap so we could all get some rest. When naptime came we all went upstairs to our room and the kids laid down...they were SO TIRED and so were we.

It started AGIAN. Whining and crying to go home. "We want to go home." Even though I had been looking forward to seeing family and sharing in my nephew Caymen's 2nd Birthday I also knew that an entire weekend of no rest would not be a great start to the next week.

SO...we packed up and went home

Thankfully the kids were asleep before we even left town. They all 4 slept until we pulled into our driveway. They were very happy to be home. When bedtime came they all went right to sleep and we did not hear a peep out of them. Praise God because Daddy and I got some much needed sleep also.

The crazy thing is I have to be rested. I do not have the option of sleeping in late the next day or taking a nap or going to bed early to make up for lost sleep. Lost sleep at our house is just LOST.

Luckily we all recovered on Sunday. We had an awsome day of rest!!

We have discovered that it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to really schedule ANYTHING. You never know what will happen. It seems that in the last 3 years we have learned SO much but also SO little. Everytime we think we have it figured out...WE DON'T!

Making Tough Decisions

Since the kids were born we have found ourselves constantly letting people down. We have always tried to put the health and well-being of our kids FIRST. It is very hard sometimes because it feels like we are letting everyone around us down as a result. I have NO regrets about the decisions we have made reguarding our family. They have rarely been easy ones but in the end I have always felt we have made the right choices for us.

In the beginning it was limiting who would see the kids and making sure everyone washed their hands. You wouldn't think this would even be a choice. I mean bringing 4 premature babies home from the hospital we were terrified and followed EVERY single piece of advice that our doctors and nurses had passed on to us. As a result our kids are VERY healthy and happy.

Besides the health issues, there are many other things that would not even be considered a problem if it were not for the fact that we have 4 kids the same age.

For example.
If one or more of our kids is having a bad day we usually cancel any planned activity. For our own sanity. It is NEVER a good thing to venture out with a cranky kid of 4.

If someone is ill we still STAY AWAY. It is very difficult to take care of 4 sick kiddos at one time. Especially when almost every illness we have dealt with ends up with excessive vomitting. I am a puker and I guess I passed that on to my kids.

We have to plan any time in the car because they all get car sick, again from me.

All four of our kids are picky eaters. They will only drink milk and their favorite meal is grilled chicken, sweet potatoe fries and applesauce. They do not like hamburgers or anything fried. So that pretty much cuts out fast food for us. They do like Chic-fil-et and Taco Bell. :o)

Getting sleep is VERY important. I take care of the kids solo while Daddy works 55 hours a week. There is no one to call if I am tired or not feeling well. I take great pains to try to keep myself rested and healthy! Plus it makes me a better mom and a better wife.

Naptimes and bedtimes must ALWAYS be considered. There is a huge difference in dealing with one child that did not get a nap as opposed to 4. It is practically impossible to console them and it makes for a very stressful afternoon for mommy and daddy. Our kids do not like to sleep unless they are in their own beds. They have always slept in their bed at night and nap and that is where they want to be. Who can blame them I LOVE MY BED it is warm and cozy and MINE!

We also have to over prepare for EVERY outing. Extra clothes extra sippy cups tons of snacks our giant stroller must ALWAYS be in tow. Literally!!!! Haha. And of course Mommy's camera. I try to never leave home without it.

It is very important to us to try to give our children many different experiences. We have tried from the beginning not to be overwhelmed by the amount of preparation and consideration that goes into every little adventure we have. Sometimes they turn out well and sometimes we end up going home early. But we still try.

My only wish is to give our children the best childhood we can possibly offer. To teach them about God's Grace Love and Compassion. We wanted to be parents for so many years and I feel like God gave us not 1 but 4 awsome beautiful intelligent kids to share our lives with and I will do everything in my power by honoring Him everyday and in every decision we make.

Big Kid Beds...Take 2

As some of you may remember we tried to convert the kids beds to toddler beds about a year ago. They screamed and cried to have their bed rails back. Weird, I know. I think it was a big security issue for them. Anyway after Sean tried to climb out and broke his arm we decided it was time to make the bed change for good!

This time the kids were ready for this bed change. There was NO complaining and we have had little issue with keeping them in their beds during nap and bedtime. Every morning when they wake up they yell for me to come into their rooms to get them out of bed. I guess they haven't quite figured out they can do it themselves! So cute though.

Since these pictures have been take we have taken the wooden rails off the beds and replace it with a larger mess rail that goes in the middle. The kids kept falling out of bed the first couple of nights and I was up all night picking up kids and putting them back into bed. Since the new rails went on all is well.

Our First Indiana Adventure

We have been going a little stir crazy since the weather here is soooo cold and wet. We did have one nice day a couple of weeks ago and we took the kids to an Outlet Mall is Michigan City. We also drove over to the beach there. Did you know there were beaches up here? Not me. It was actually very nice and the kids were very excited. They LOVE the beach and miss our beautiful Gulf Shores beaches. We had a great time shopping and playing.

Broken Baby

This has been the CRAZIEST couple of months in a very long time. We are finally getting almost everything moved in and unpacked in our new home. Daddy has been working a lot of hours and we are going a little stir crazy because it has been so wet and cold here. When we left Alabama two months ago we were already having temperature in the upper 70's. Today when I got out of bed it was in the 30's. I am a warm sunshine kind of girl but I am trying to adjust. We are looking forward to warm temperature hopefully coming soon!! In the mean time we are taking trips to the local mall. There is a Choo Choo train there that the kids like to ride. They also like to visit Mickey Mouse at his house in the mall frequently. AKA Disney Store. This week has been particularly stressful. Wednesday evening after putting the kids to bed Sean started screaming at the top of his lung. Chris and I ran into his room and he was standing there holding his arm. I scooped him up and took him to the dining room where there was more light. With him still crying we decided he needed a trip to the Emergency room. Because we have only been here for a couple of weeks we did not know anything about the local hospitals. We entered hospital in the GPS and went to the first one that came up. A few short minutes later Sean and I pulled into the parking garage at the hospital. Three x-rays later and he was being fitted for an temperary cast. Broken in two places just above the elbow, we have now experienced our first broken bone. NO fun at all. He has not slept for the past two nights. Which also mean Mommy has not slept. Today I took him to an Orthopedic Surgeon and he is now sporting a beautiful blue cast. He is much more comfortable in the hard cast and after the appointment he took a 5 hour nap. Thank God! This evening he played and complained very little about the pain. He has been such a sport through this whole thing. I am so proud of him. The other kids are however experiencing a little jealousy. I am sure that in a few days we will all be back to normal or at least our version of normal anyway. I do have some picture but I cannot find the software for my camera to download the pics to the computer. So perhaps another day. God bless and take care.

We have been in the process of moving. Yes, moving AGAIN. Chris received a job offer back in Indiana and he felt that he could not refuse it. So, we have been homeless for about 3 weeks. The kids and I are staying with my Mom while daddy is living in a hotel 3 hours away. We will be moving into our new home in just a few days. I will try to post a full report as soon as I can. Finally we will all be together again as a family. We sure miss daddy and I know daddy misses us!

Last week our dear friend Pooh Bear had a fateful accident. He will be greatly missed.

Pooh and his honey pots were a gift from Grandma. He is so cute and the kids LOVE him. Apparently Pooh was pulled off the dresser onto Edi's head. I was in the kitchen folding laundry when I heard a very loud noise followed by crying. I went into the girls room and there he was on the floor in several pieces. Edi was crying and she kept saying, "Poohpinyere fell on my head and he is broken." She had 3 HUGE knots on her head. I put ice on it and called Daddy home from work. Pooh stands about 18" tall and he is VERY heavy. I was very concerned so we took a quick trip to the Emergency Room, ALL OF US. I decided to take everyone because I wanted to sit with her and keep an eye on her, just in case. By the time we arrived the swelling had gone way down. We had had ice on it for about 45 minutes by that time. I am happy to report that she was OKAY! As for Pooh...well that is a different story. :o(

Edi kept telling everyone at the Hospital about how Poohpinyere fell on here head and now he was broke. She charmed them all. I could here them at the desk asking if they had seen the Pooh Bear girl, we had many visiters while we waited. They just stopped in to hear her little story. In the meantime Daddy was in the waiting room with the other three kiddos and lots of animal crackers.

Thank Goodness our adventure is over and Edi is doing just fine. We are currently looking for a soft stuffed replacement for Pooh Bear!!!

A Day at the Park

We had a BEAUTIFUL day at the park. The kids had a great time while Mommy tried to get some new photos. I have tried getting their pictures taken professionally but I just do not think we ever really get very good shots. So in the past few months we have been doing all their photos ourselves. It is a little stressful when you REALLY want some good ones, you NEVER know what your are going to get with 4 little 2 yr olds. :o)

Big Beds???? or NOT!

I have been searching for some time now for toddler bedding for the kiddos. They have never really needed it because my Aunt made their first two sets of blankets. Now, they are getting bigger and they needed bigger blankets. I looked EVERYWHERE for bedding and finally found the perfect set for each of the kids at Target.com. It came right to my door with FREE shipping. I was very happy with all the bedding when it arrived!!

Sean loves cars, buses, trucks, etc. pretty much ANYTHING with wheels.

Henry LOVEs balls. Sports was the best I could come up with and he loves it.

Edi loves flowers and butterflies.

Sophia also loves flowers.

We also, as you can see, took the sides off their beds and put the toddler rails on. I thought they would be so thrilled with their new freedom.

Well... I was soooo WRONG. When naptime came they all cried for their bed rails. Daddy and I quickly put them back together. Well, as quickly as anyone could take off eight side rails and put on one big rail. They all CHEERED happily when they were all back together.

They laid down quietly and went right to sleep. Perhaps we are NOT quite ready for our big kid beds.

Grandma came to visit and we had a GREAT time. This was the first time that the kids really understood that she was coming to visit. I told them several days before she came that we were going to pick her up and that she was going to come in a plane. They LOVE planes now. When we finally picked her up they were sooooo excited...and so was I!!!!

We drove 3 hours to the country to visit my mom's brother, Joe. Here is my mom with Sean, Edi, Sophia, and Henry. We made several attempt at a good picture but I was not so successful.

The kids LOVE grandma almost at much as Chris and I do. Chris taught them a little song that he made up and they have been singing about grandma for the past few days.

They insert different names from family to each other and even our family dogs but for the past few days it has been A LOT of Grandmas.

I am finding now that I have NO idea who I am anymore. I am a MOM and a wife, shouldn't there be a little more to it?

I have recently noticed that the kids are getting much easier to take care of. I often find myself wondering what I WANT to do. It is a very odd feeling since I have pretty much been on survival mode for the past two and a half years. I am starting to have more time to THINK. That is not always a good thing! I am realizing that I miss some aspects of my life...pre-quadruplets. I know I know this is perfectly NORMAL, or so I have been told.

I miss working, running out the door with little to no preparation needed, being ready for church in under 30 minutes, working out 2 to 4 hours a day, spending quality time with my Hubby, and having days when I do not have to do ANYTHING.

I would not trade my life now for the world. I have the family I always dreamed of but I am thinking it might be time to focus, a least a little of my energy, on myself. I am hoping this will make me not only a better wife and mother but also a better person in general. Wish me luck. Operation Focus More on Mommy has just begun!!! ;O)

Poor little thing her legs were probably numb. She was all folded up in that wagon. Although I didn't feel too bad because about 10 minutes after I got her out...she was right back in it again. GO FIGURE?!?

We will definately be visiting the museum again, hopefully next time with Daddy! There were A LOT of hands on activities for the kids to do. They had many cockpits that the kids could climb in and also a large indoor play area!! Did I mention it is FREE? Fun, fun fun! It is amazing how much easier our outings are becoming! Hair Today Gone Tomorrow!

Ok so let me just say one thing...I DID NOT want to cut Sean's hair.

Why did I? Well because of this...

It is HOT outside and everytime we go anywhere poor little Sean's hair sticks to his sweaty face. He is constantly trying to get it off of his face. Poor little guy! :o(

We called around to find a salon that specialized in kids. Did you know that there are NO kid salons down here? Is this AMERICA? We ended up going to a little salon in Orange Beach.

Jewel cut Sean's hair. She was FANTASTIC with him.

He did such a great job. He held very still and just let her cut away!

Yup, we took our kiddos to the FREE Jimmy Buffett concert in Gulf Shores. Why???? Well...we wanted to go so they went with us. We weren't sure if we would be able to take them because we only had 2 tickets. When we go up to the front of the entrance line and asked them about the kids having to have a ticket, they practically rolled out the red carpet to let us in. There are MANY perks to having quadruplets (sometimes).
Anyway we went in and decided to go to the new grassy area that they just put in this summer. There are picnic tables and shade. Plenty of room for the kiddos to run around and dance to the music.
Oh YES dance. My kids LOVE music and they LOVE to dance.

Overall we had a GREAT time. The kids did really well and even though we did not stay for the entire show it was fun. I am so thankful to be able to let them have new experiences. God is so Good to us, He leads us everyday and allows us to have a wonderful and fullfilling life with our family!

Over all it was a great experience. It is nice to see other parents in our same situation, makes us not feel quite so alone. Their kiddos could not have been any cuter!!!!

Happy Birthday Sophia, Sean, Henry, and Edith. WOW! That is about all I can say... I cannot believe my kiddos are TWO years old. How did that happen??? Time has gone by so quickly. It seems like yesterday I was very sleep deprived and wondered it they would ever walk, feed themselves, and be potty trained. Well, two out of three ain't bad! lol We didn't really celebrate their Birthday on their actual Birth Day. We were just beginning to move into our new house on that day and it was a bit crazy. We did however have dinner with a few friends at our FAVORITE local Mexican place.

Ok so, ya know how I hate always being right? Well I told Chris to only light one candle at a time. He insisted he would be VERY careful and it would be okay to do both boys at once. The next thing I know Henry is screaming and his hand is blistered and black from grabbing the candle. There are not many pictures after this because Mommy had to comfort poor little Henry. Daddy...well let's just say. Aaaaarrrrggghhh!!!!

Anyway, a few days after their actual Birthday my mom flew in for a couple of days. We decided to do their presents and have another little party while she was here.

Yes, my kids are WEIRD. They all love hats. What can I say. At our Mexican Restaurant they are always wearing the hats around so I bought them their very own. They still wear them all the time. Go figure?!?

Edith is stylin' in here new hat and shoes! They all have a thing for shoes too, even the boys! That makes Mommy sooooo proud!!!

Overall we had a GREAT Birthday week. I am so very blessed to have such beautiful healthy children. I do not know whay God chose me to have them, love them, and raise them, but a I thank Him EVERYDAY for the opportunity to share my life with them. They are by far the BEST gift I have EVER been given. I am truly thankful for each one of them. They are so worth everything that goes into raising them. I would not change one moment!

Well...I have A LOT to post but not today. We are still trying to move. We have a house and it is only 10 miles from our current home. YAY! The problem is daddy started a new GREAT job and he has been training. We are very behind in the moving process. The home that we are moving to needed A LOT of cleaning. I mean A LOT of cleaning. Carpets, all other floors, cabinets, appliances, trim, you name it and I have bleached it. We are finally ready to move in, with the exception of one bathroom.

I will do my best to update soon! The kiddos turn 2 on Sunday but that is daddy's only day off so we will probably do a quick meal with some friends and back to the grindstone. PROMISE...2 year old pictures and updates SOON!

It is getting WARM. I have been walking at our local Outlet Mall with the kids almost everyday. Each day we stroll by the fountain and they all wave and say, "Hi water." Well...daddy and I finally decided to let them play and they had a FANTASTIC time. I do believe this will be a favorite this summer.

We drove over to Fairhope on Saturday just to walk around and play in the park. We ran into a family with triplets, WHAT ARE THE ODDS. They are 7mo. old and soooo adorable. I am kicking myself for not asking their daddy if we could take a group picture. :( Later we went down to the water to let the kids play by the fountain. They had a GREAT time.

Oh and we are soooo glad that adventure is over. It took quite a bit of time getting everyone measured and finding "Mommy Approved" shoes. By this I mean all white that will go with EVERYTHING. We did find them at Rack Room Shoe Outlet store. Buy one get one half off!! They also were nice enough to give us two $10 off coupons. Yippee!! I guess we looked a little needy sitting on the floor trying on all the shoes and making sure they all fit. Thank Goodness we will not have to do this again for at least a little while!!!

It's COLD outside!

Ok, so...we moved to southern Alabama because we thought it would be warm here all winter long, right?? Wrong!! It is COLD. All the people down here are saying it is the coldest winter they have had in a long time. Yuck! I pictured a great winter with averages in the 60's, well...that is not what we are experiencing. We are stuck inside because it is too cold and damp to have the kids out for any length of time. We do have a occasionally warm day but mostly it is pretty chilly. :( So... we are spending A LOT of time inside.

BIG Gymboree Fun!

We took the kiddos to Gymboree for the first time last week. We all had a great time. It was fairly inexpensive and the kids LOVED it.

Overall we had a really good time. The kids could have played forever. They did really well and they did not even cry when we left, the balloons helped I am sure. We are looking forward to many more fun outings as the weather gets a little warmer and the kids get much easier to take out. We are finally starting to have BIG fun in our little family and I am soooo glad. I did not think it was ever going to get easier but it is!!!!!!!!

My mom came down, Yay, and we decided to take a little roadtrip to see her brother Joe. He lives a little further North than we do. He hasn't seen the kids EVER. It was so fun to see him and let him meet the kiddos.

Daddy was off work today so we got to get out of the house. Yippee!! It was a warm 60 degrees and super sunny, as you can see by the brightness of the photos. It was a great day. We spent the morning walking at the beach and then we had lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant! Daddy, Edi, Sean, Henry, and Sophia at the beach.

How time flies!

Sorry it has been so long since I updated. The kids now have their third cold in three months. The doctor said to keep them out of the church nursery! We had never put them in the nursery until recently and since then they have been sick every month. Just a little cold though nothing serious. However mommy and grandma are drowning in snot!!! YUCK!

Daddy's new job is a lot of hours, but grandma came to visit just in time for this latest cold outbreak and the Super Bowl of course. We are COLTS fans down here in the middle of a bunch of New Orleans fan. You cannot find anything Colts anywhere down here. Very weird for us!!

We are hoping the weather stays sunny so we can get outside today or tomorrow.

I remember the day that we found out we were having four babies. My husband, mother, and aunt all crowded into a very small office. The ultrasound technician started the search and there they were plain for all to see, four little circles. The look on that poor ladies face was a look of terror. She softly spoke, "Let me tell you what we are looking at here." Well...we did not need to be told we knew, there was NO question. I laughed nervously and my poor hubby turned a very pale shade of white. I am really not sure how my mom and aunt reacted actually at this point I cannot remember.

ANYWAY...

Since that day, well and even before when we were so desperately praying for a family, we have always held on to our FAITH.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

The last time we went to the beach this is what it was like we were all bundled up! It was soooo cold. This afternoon we are going and it will be a sunny 70 degrees. I love Southern Alabama!

The kids love to go and walk along the boardwalk. They love the attention from all the people that stop and talk to us but most of all they love the birds. There have been a few times though when Daddy decided to feed the birds. BIG MISTAKE! Apparently they are more hungary in the winter when there are fewer tourists to feed them. Who knew?

Ok so I know it is the middle of January but hey, my life is very very busy!! Christmas morning was a lot of fun in our home this year. We did not wrap the kids presents, instead we took all of them out of the boxes added batteries and hid them in their tent and tunnel from Granny. The kids ran straight for the tent well...except for Henry who got side-tracked on another toy. Dear sweet Henry.

It was a crazy year last year, now we are looking onto bigger and better things. We are so very blessed. As we sat at the table with our little kiddos on Christmas morning we all sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus. It was so cute because we have a picture of Jesus being baptized on the wall just above the dining room table and we tell the kids all the time that it is Jesus in the picture. After we sung Sophia pointed at the picture and said, "Jesus". I could not be more proud. I know God gave us these precious children and it is our responsibility to teach them about the blood of Jesus and how God loved us sooo much that he sacrificed his only son. I thank God everyday that he did not ask me to do the same!

It is amazing the difference between them from last year. Oh, how they have grown! They change so much everyday. Last year we were SO worried about RSV and keeping our little ones healthy. Praise God for their health. We have only taken them to the doctor twice due to illness. Amazing, huh?

On our last trip to Indiana we were just in time to join family and friends for Birthday celebrations. We all went to our favorite restaurant, El Meson, to celebrate Aunt Rose and Counsin Sean's birthday. We had a great time catching up and spending time with some very special family and friends. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately. Sometimes we find ourselves in situation that we never imagined, I am so glad that I have a God that is bigger than anything else. It is so comforting to know that with God I can accomplish anything.

Even when the doctors told us that we may not bring all four of our children home, God knew we would. Even when we were told our kids would likely spend a month or more in the hospital, God knew we would take the boys home in a short two weeks and both girls in three. I am so very blessed and I am honored to serve a God that is soooo big through Him anything is possible. Our beautiful boy Sean.

I look at our children in amazement. It doesn't seem that long ago that we did not know if we would ever be parents. There are days when I do not know what I am doing or how I will get through. Thankfully I know that I am not doing it alone. God is always with me. My children are so HAPPY and HEALTHY! I have been given so many blessings that I do not deserve. I am very thankful for each day, each moment, each memory. I have never felt more blessed than I do right now.

Back to Indiana

Looks like the kids and I are headed back to Indiana to stay until daddy finds a better job, sells our house, and finds us a safer place to live. I know God had big plans for us but right now we are riding the roller coaster of uncertainty. We are hanging in there just sad to be away from daddy at Christmas time.

We are all getting over a cold that started on Thanksgiving Day. We have been sloshing around in snot, poop, and puke for several days. It looks like we are on the mend, we left our house for the first time since last Thursday. The weather was great today in the 60s. I love Alabama, well except for this neighborhood that our realtor neglected to tell us about.

Oh well, we are moving on to bigger and better things!!!!

The Break-In

Please pray for our family. Someone kicked our door in the on Monday night and stole my laptop computer. That computer had all of our kids photos on it from birth. We had some of them backed up but not all of them.

We are not feeling very safe right now. Thank God no one was home and nothing else was really disturbed. We are not going home for Thanksgiving so we are going to spend it with just us.

I hope everyone has a GREAT Thanksgiving Day remember all that God has blessed you with in the past year!!!

Grandma is Coming to Town!

I could not have survived the past two years without my mom. I know I do not tell her enough but she has been a constant rock in my life. She is my best friend and I hate being so far away from her but it does make her visits that much more special. Here is a little about my mom. This is my mom on my laptop while I was in the High Risk unit at St. Vincent Women's Hospital in Indianapolis. Now let me first say that I was only there for one week before my little ones were born but it seemed like a long time. Those of you that know, my back never stopped hurting and I had constant side pain from my big huge belly. She never left my side. She was there to do whatever I needed. Chris, daddy, had to work and she spent every night with me. How do you thank someone like that??

The kids are facinated with our new big window over the couch. This is the only place I can put the couch because if I put it on the other side of the room they climb over the couch and can get out of the fence. So...this is the lesser of two evils. Overall I think the kids like their new house. Mommy is still adjusting. We did lose over 1000 square feet, a basement, and a garage. But we have given a lot of stuff away and are finally starting to fit in our new house. It's not small, it is a four bedroom two bath it is just smaller than we are use to.
